Kathrin Berg, the Executive Vice President of the El Paso Community Foundation joins hosts Stephanie Valle and Lisa Elliott to discuss the celebrities who have been special guests at the Plaza Classic Film Festival.
Kathrin is the Executive Vice President of the El Paso Community Foundation. She believes in improving our great city one step at a time by working on projects that affect the greater good. As part of the Foundation, Kathrin heads the Investment Advisory Board Committee and enjoys being a part of an organization that has invested more than $282 Million back into the community since 1977.
She founded and operates Kathrin Speaks Enterprises, a company that provides professional voice-over and on-camera narration for documentaries, commercials, podcasts and a variety of other projects. Since 1997, Kathrin co-produces and moderates The El Paso Physician, an hour-long broadcast television and streaming program in which a variety of medical topics are discussed with physicians specializing in various fields of expertise. The program is the flagship for the American Medical Association and has won several national awards
Kathrin was the Executive Director of El Paso Pro-Musica from 2004-2011 and the Director of Communications and Government Relations for the American Cancer Society from 1992-2004. Prior to that, Kathrin worked at KVIA-TV (an ABC affiliate) where she learned many ‘tricks of the trade’ she uses to this day.
Kathrin is also a recipient of the YWCA’s Reach Award and El Paso Inc.’s Woman of Impact Award. She was an original board member of the Plaza Star Keepers Guild advocating the restoration of the historic Plaza Theatre which was completed in 2006 and kicked off the revitalization of downtown El Paso. She has passionately worked with El Paso Community Foundation projects ever since.
