The Harvey Awards are one of the comic industry's oldest and most prestigious awards. Recognizing outstanding achievement in multiple categories, the Harvey's have been a fixture of the comic industry since 1988.
The Ignatz Award is named for the brick-wielding mouse in George Herriman's Krazy Kat comic strip, and is intended to recognize outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning by small press creators or creator-owned projects published by larger publishers. Winners are determined by the votes of the attendees of the Small Press Expo, a weekend-long convention and tradeshow showcasing creator-owned comics.
