Hosts Stephanie Valle and Lisa Elliott are joined by the first woman to win the Oscar ballot contest held among the Plaza Classic Film Festival Program Committee.
Keri Moe, an Associate Vice President with El Paso Community College, correctly guessed 19 of the 23 winners of the 96th Academy Awards.
She now has the distinction of selecting a movie to screen during the Plaza Classic Film Festival. She mulls over her choices, which range from Dumb and Dumber (celebrating its 30th anniversary of release!) to The 400 Blows.
Keri Moe, Ed.D., is a proud El Pasoan. She currently works in higher education both as an administrator and faculty member. She has taught film studies, has a love of movies and values how cinema fosters connection, culture and shared experiences. Dr. Moe recognizes the ability of film to shape our world by reflecting diverse realities, sparking empathy and cultivating understanding. She has served on the Plaza Classic Film Festival organizing committee for three years and is proud to be part of this renowned effort which showcases both a powerful art form and our vibrant community.
