Introduction

Hello,

My name is Adrian Morales. I’ll be your guide throughout this six-session class on evaluating online sources. The lessons seek to answer some essential questions:

Lesson 1:

How do you conduct database and web searches online, and what are some related concepts, tips and tricks?

Lesson 2:

How do you distinguish scholarly vs non-scholarly information?

Lesson 3:

What are some ways to evaluate information?

Lesson 4

How can I tell between fact vs opinion?

Lesson 5

How do you evaluate news?

Lesson 6

Why is it important that we give credit to information creators?

Bonus Round:

How do you evaluate an author’s argument(s)? [if time allows]

I am happy that you are in my class, and look forward to being with you throughout this journey. Thank you!
