Resource Credibility

While conducting professional research, it is important to question the reliability of the information you're using. The CRAAP test is a 5 point method to use while assessing the reliability of your resource for a class. 

Currency
  • Is the resource your using current or out of date?
Relevance
  • Is the information on topic to what you are studying?

Author

  • Is the author established within his/her field?

Accuracy

  • Does the information look correct and is it backed by research? Are there any grammatical errors?

Purpose

  •  What is the purpose of the material you are researching? Is the content easy to understand and is it organized in a logical manner? Can you research the credentials of the Website or source viewed.
