Tutoring is a valuable instructional service that helps students achieve: better grades, pass courses, and prepare for testing requirements. ATB: Ability to Benefit: Assists students who do not have their high school diploma, GED or Preparatoria. Also, assist students who want to enroll int he College's ESL program and regular classes. Help students prepare for the Compas test and retest.
PREP: Pretesting Retesting Educational Program: Assists students to PREPare for college by helping them improve their college placement scores. PREP offers computerized assisted tutorials that aid the student in refreshing their Math, Reading, and Writing skills. This can help the student reduce the amount of time in Developmental Education courses.
RAP: Retention Action Program: Serves sstudents who enroll in Career Technical Education studies. RAP introduces students to several learning strategies that can be applied to all courses across teh curriculum. RAP uses small groups for cooperative learning to facilitate the learning process, teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills necessary for students to succeed.
SSSP: Student Support Services Program: Assist students who are economically disadvantaged, first generation college students, or who have disabilities to successfully remain in college, graduate, and transfer to a four-year institution. Participants work individually and in small groups with Project Tutors, Program Student Assistants, adn Program Student Advisors. Students are encouraged to come in and/or call for more information.
TSS: Tutorial Support Services: Provides free instructional assistance through one-to-one and small group tutoring. THe focus is on helping students develop skills in Reading, Writing, and Math. Computer assisted instruction is also available for students who need to work on improving specific educational skills. Tutoring hours vary, please call for hours of operation.
