Licenses 101

When you come across open access materials or OER, you should see a license attached to it. This license will tell you how you are able to use the item. Please see the diagrams for explanation on the licenses.

License Terms

You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

The material cannot be used for commercial purposes.

If you remix, transform or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

If you remix, transform or rebuild upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.
