STEMGROW: STEM For Instructors

The Engineer Your Life Web site is for high school girls and the adults in their lives (parents, counselors, teachers, and other educators) who want to learn more about what life and work are like for engineers. Ultimately, we hope that the site will break down stereotypes about engineering and encourage girls to consider it as a career option.

The Mathematical Association of America is the largest professional society that focuses on mathematics accessible at the undergraduate level. Our members include university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry. We welcome all who are interested in the mathematical sciences.

NAMEPA is a platform for identifying best practices among university programs in the diversity space. Through this platform, training opportunities are available for university administrators, K-12 students, teachers and counselors, new and seasoned MEP directors, and industry professionals who are committed to increasing diversity in the STEM fields. Through sharing of ideas, information and best practices, we prepare and invigorate individuals and institutions to be more effective in their mission to graduate, employ, and advance world-class engineers and leaders.

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is the public voice of mathematics education, supporting teachers to ensure equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students through vision, leadership, professional development, and research.

AAUW’s story begins in 1881, when a small group of female college graduates banded together to open the doors for women’s career advancement and to encourage more women to pursue higher education.

Each year, the United States invests billions in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and workforce development. Over 70% of jobs will require core STEM skills. STEMconnector® is THE information and convening force on resources and best practices. Founded in 2011, STEMconnector®* convenes top leaders in the field through initiatives that rapidly connect and leverage the world of STEM and help our supporters in their investments to build a STEM pipeline and workforce.

The Journal of STEM Education: Innovations and Research is a half yearly, peer-reviewed publication for educators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The journal emphasizes real-world case studies that focus on issues that are relevant and important to STEM practitioners. These studies may showcase field research as well as secondary-sourced cases. The journal encourages case studies that cut across the different STEM areas and that cover non-technical issues such as finance, cost, management, risk, safety, etc. Case studies are typically framed around problems and issues facing a decision maker in an organization.
