Finding books on your topic
Books are excellent sources for information; however, you can take extra steps to ensure the quality of information you find in any book.
1. Author and publisher - you can use some basic internet sleuthing to look at who produced your source.
2. Sources provided/Citations - A well-written, well-researched book will always include meticulous documentation for finding the origins of information used or presented. That documentation, or Citation, is the cornerstone of all scholarly progress.
Credit and accountability for ideas are vital for progress in science and academics.
3. Perspective - Primary sources are generally regarded as first-hand information directly from a source. Secondary sources can offer a broader, but interpreted, view of information.
