Campus Carry (EPCC Police Department)

The following information was taken from the EPCC Police Department Webpage

Campus Carry

Texas Senate Bill 11 (also known as “Campus Carry”) will allow individuals who hold a concealed handgun license to carry a concealed handgun on Texas public community college campuses beginning August 1, 2017.

Gun Free Zones

EPCC may designate certain areas as "Gun Free Zones," and took suggestions from the community about which areas should be given that designation.

Early Colleges, Head Start, and childcare facilities are automatically designated as Gun Free Zones.

Examples of possible Gun Free Zones include:

  • Art Classrooms - because of all the chemical materials and appliances. (VV A121)
  • Chemistry Labs - because there is an additional risk of an explosion.
  • Culinary Arts - because of all the ovens and appliances. (ASC)
